Welcome friends!

This is a forum to share tips, advice and ideas about nutrition, fitness and well-being. I also invite you to join me in my yoga practice at 24 Hour Fitness. It is an 1 hour vinyasa yoga class, also called "flow" yoga. The poses move fluidly, the breath linking each pose to the next. This practice will create strength, flexibilty, endurance and balance leading to a sense of wellness and mental awareness. I hope to see you there! The class schedule will be updated on the blog as it changes.

Speed Yoga

Need a yoga fix but short on time? Here is a series of poses Mark and I did after our run this morning. It's a complete class, just super short. Hold each pose for about 3 long inhales and exhales and it should take you about 15 minutes.

Comfortable seated position
Seated lateral flextion both sides
Seated easy twist both sides
Table top
Cat/Cow
Kneeling side plank/gate flow both sides
Child's pose
Down Dog
Mountain
1 complete round Sun salutations (both right and left side)

Plank
Push up
Up dog
Down Dog
High lunge
Twisting lunge
Warrior 2
(repeat sequence other side)

Crow
Boat
Half Boat
Supine hamstring stretch both sides
Twist
Relax!

Healthy Saturday

We started with a run through Hendrix Park......
Then made a quick stop at the Winter Farmer's Market...

To get some kale for our yummy lunch of kale quesadillas.  We also picked up a nice butternut squash to go with tonight's dinner!
